Agartala: A BSF jawan of Tripura frontier sustained serious injuries on Thursday night allegedly in an attack by drug smugglers.
The jawan Binod Soren was shifted to hospital with head injuries at night and doctors said he is out of danger. BSF officials said in the intervening night of Thursday and Friday, based on specific intelligence input, 130 battalion BSF troops raided Rangamura area of Belonia in South Tripura.
The miscreants had allegedly started stone pelting on the jawans and injured Soren. However, the party successfully seized 25 Kg of cannabis worth Rs 1,25,000/- on the Indo-Bangladesh border under P R Bari police station limit.
The injured jawan was was shifted to Rajnagar hospital.Meanwhile, police registered a case and started an investigation but nobody has been arrested yet.
