Biren Cabinet approves holding of ADC election in four districts

Enhancement of honorarium of Members of the Manipur State Commission for Women (MSCW); inclusion of 9 (nine) different employments as Scheduled Employments under the Minimum Wages Act, 1948 and fixation of minimum rates of wages for the employees were also approved in the Cabinet Meeting.

Imphal:  A State Cabinet meeting held Saturday approved to conduct elections to the Autonomous District Councils in Manipur including 4 new districts – Kamjong, Tengnoupal, Pherzawl and Noney for which required steps will be taken up by the authority concerned.

The Cabinet also approved the setting-up of State-of-the-Art Multi-Speciality Cancer Institute under DBFO (Design, Build, Finance & Operate) Mode in JNIMS Campus, Imphal and inclusion of 9 (nine) different employments as Scheduled Employments under the Minimum Wages Act, 1948 and fixation of minimum rates of wages for the employees.

The Cabinet further considered and approved the adoption of Manipur Service (Revised Pay) Rules, 2019 for the officers and staff of High Court of Manipur. For Rural Development and Panchayati Raj, the State Cabinet approved notification of the draft Manipur Rural Employment (Payment of Unemployment Allowance) Guarantee Rules, 2021 under section 32(1) of the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act, 2005 and amendment of the provision of Rules for the conduct of Panchayat Election and engagement of Manpower under Social Audit Unit (Manipur Social Audit Agency).

For the procurement and development of a Manipur Guest House at Kharghar, Navi Mumbai, the State Cabinet approved to hand over the matter to GAD, Govt. of Manipur for the further necessary process.
