Imphal: As part of the upcoming 80th Independence Day celebrations, Assam Rifles will host a series of patriotic musical performances titled Pipe Band Displays across prominent locations in Imphal West district, Manipur. Designed to invoke national pride and unity, the musical displays will feature an elite team of the Assam Rifles Pipe Band presenting a rich repertoire of 15 distinct musical compositions during each session. The performances are scheduled at Kangla West Gate in Imphal West district on 11 August 2026 from 06:30 PM to 07:30 PM, followed by a session at Manipur University, Imphal West district on 12 August 2026 from 12:30 PM to 01:30 PM. The grand finale display will be held on Independence Day, 15 August 2026, from 06:30 PM to 07:30 PM at Kangla West Gate.
These special performances will showcase the discipline, musical excellence and ceremonial traditions of the force while adding a distinctive patriotic fervour to the national celebrations. By performing at historic and academic landmarks like Kangla West Gate and Manipur University, Assam Rifles seeks to engage meaningfully with the local community, especially the youth, through the universal language of music. The initiative highlights the force’s enduring commitment to strengthening public bonds and fostering national integration.
