Tengnoupal: Demonstrating their steadfast commitment to the welfare of local border communities, Assam Rifles personnel successfully executed the emergency medical evacuation of a 30-year-old postpartum woman from Chonjang Village in the Tengnoupal District of Manipur on 12 July 2026.

The resident developed severe postpartum complications shortly after giving birth to a baby boy, experiencing profuse bleeding and a rapidly deteriorating pulse that required immediate clinical intervention. Recognizing the gravity of the situation, the Village Secretary approached the nearby Assam Rifles Company Operating Base at Chonjang to seek urgent assistance for transportation to a higher medical facility.

Responding with utmost urgency, Assam Rifles personnel immediately mobilized resources and provided a dedicated vehicle to facilitate her swift evacuation. Accompanied by her husband, the patient was expeditiously transported from the remote village to a designated link-up point. At this location, a pre-positioned hospital ambulance took over her onward movement to an advanced medical facility. This seamless coordination and timely execution ensured the patient received specialized treatment without delay, ultimately saving the lives of both the mother and her newborn. The villagers expressed heartfelt gratitude to the force for their prompt, professional action during the critical hour.
