Chandel: Reaffirming its uncompromising commitment to transparency, accountability and ethical conduct, Assam Rifles organised a series of engaging programmes across Chandel, Churachandpur and Tengnoupal districts in Manipur as part of Vigilance Awareness Week 2026. Aligned with the central theme “Probity for Prosperity”, the initiatives aimed to strengthen institutional integrity, promote critical thinking on anti-corruption measures and foster active community participation towards building a responsible and transparent society.
The observances commenced on 29 October 2026 at Sajik Tampak in Chandel district, where Assam Rifles conducted an Integrity Pledge Ceremony alongside a 2.5 km Run for Integrity. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from Assam Rifles personnel and 30 local children from Chakpikarong. The programme began with all personnel reaffirming their commitment to upholding honesty and opposing corruption in all spheres, followed by the run to spread awareness regarding vigilance and collective responsibility. By involving local youth, the initiative encouraged young minds to become active stakeholders in promoting ethical governance, while further strengthening the bond between Assam Rifles and border communities.
Building upon this momentum on 30 October 2026, Assam Rifles expanded its outreach across Churachandpur and Tengnoupal districts. Under the aegis of Headquarters Inspector General Assam Rifles (South), a Vigilance Awareness Run was organized at Tengnoupal, where a total of 132 personnel actively participated to reinforce discipline, physical fitness and probity in official duties. Simultaneously, an Essay Writing Competition was held at Veng in Churachandpur district, drawing 50 personnel who reflected upon their official duties and expressed their views on maintaining high moral standards, administrative accountability and corruption-free governance.
Uniting these multi-faceted activities across Chandel, Churachandpur and Tengnoupal districts was a shared ethos of personal responsibility, administrative probity and civic engagement, contributing towards a transparent and upright nation.
