Assam police seize trucks carrying cattle to Meghalaya

Notably, the Assam government has passed the Cattle Protection Bill aimed at regulating slaughter, consumption and transportatio of cattle in Assam.

Guwahati: Assam police on Thursday seized three trucks, loaded with 87 cattle, which were heading to Meghalaya from Tezpur in Kamrup district.

According to the police, the three trucks were intercepted based on intelligence inputs about the movement of vehicles with illegally loaded cattle.

The occupants of the trucks were being interrogated.
Notably, the Assam government has passed the Cattle Protection Bill aimed at regulating slaughter, consumption and transportatio of cattle in Assam.
