Arunachal reports 205 new Covid cases; death toll rises to 64

Out of the new positive cases, Itanagar Capital Complex reported the highest at 61, Lower Subansiri at 20 and Anjaw 17, as per the bulletin issued by the state Directorate of Health Services.

Itanagar: As many as 205 people have tested positive for Covid-19 in Arunachal Pradesh in the last 24 hours, pushing the tally to 20,370, while the death toll rose to 64 as four more succumbed to the virus.

Out of the new positive cases, Itanagar Capital Complex reported the highest at 61, Lower Subansiri at 20 and Anjaw 17, as per the bulletin issued by the state Directorate of Health Services.

Barring 68, all the patients are asymptomatic.

According to the bulletin, of the four fatalities reported, a 44-year-old man who was undergoing treatment at DCHC, Midpu for Covid-19, and later referred to DCH-Chimpu, near here, was declared dead on arrival on Monday.

While a 60-year-old man from Roing expired on Monday at AMCH, Dibrugarh (Assam). He was tested through a rapid antigen test (RAT) and was suffering from hypertension and diabetes mellitus. He expired due to cardiorespiratory arrest.

An 18-year-old female from village Sirro, Lower Subansiri district, diagnosed with Covid pneumonia expired on Monday.

The fourth patient, a 53-year-old man from West Kameng expired on the way to DCHC, Bomdila on Monday. He died due to acute respiratory distress syndrome.

On a positive note, 179 patients were discharged following their recovery from the virus, taking the total recoveries to 18,351. The recovery rate is over 90 per cent.

Active cases stood at 19,55.
