Arunachal registers 82 more Covid-19 cases, no fresh casualties

The State tested 329 samples for Coronavirus during the last 24 hours which took the cumulative figure to 12,82,137.

Itanagar: Maintaining its steady rise in Coronavirus infections, Arunachal Pradesh on Saturday recorded 82 more Covid-19 cases taking the state’s overall case tally to 65,680, a senior health official said.

On the other hand, 69 Covid patients have recuperated from the disease during the past 24 hours which took the total number of recoveries to 64,897, State Surveillance Officer (IDSP) Dr. Lobsang Jampa said.

With no fresh casualties reported during the period, the state’s death toll remained unchanged at 296.

Of the new infections, 13 cases were reported from Lohit, 12 from Itanagar Capital Complex, 9 from Namsai, 8 from Changlang, and 6 each from Lower Dibang Valley and Lower Siang, Dr. Jampa said, adding that 48 of the total cases turned out to be symptomatic and 34 asymptomatic.

Arunachal Pradesh presently has 487 active Covid-19 cases comprising 0.74 percent of the total virus cases, while the recovery rate stood at 98.81 percent and the death rate at 0.45 percent.

Itanagar Capital Complex has the highest number of active cases at 76, followed by Namsai (59), East Siang (44), Changlang (38), Lohit, and Lower Subansiri (34 each), and Upper Siang (32).
