Itanagar: Arunachal Pradesh Governor Brig (Retd) BD Mishra was administered the first shot of a Covid-19 vaccine here on Thursday.
The Governor took the dose of Covishield, a Raj Bhavan communique said.
It may be mentioned here that the Governor has been talking to all government officials, political and religious leaders, gaon burahs, eminent personalities, sportspersons and youths, and appealed to get vaccinated.
He said that for the safety of our own self and our loved ones, every person must take Covid vaccination.
Mishra also cautioned that even after vaccination, the people must maintain Covid protocols ie wear facemask, wash hands frequently, and follow social distancing by practicing ‘do gaj ki doori’.
Meanwhile, the Governor and Lok Sabha MP Tapir Gao discussed about measures to contain the spread of Coronavirus in the state when the former called on him at Raj Bhavan here.
The Governor requested Gao to assist the state Government in providing adequate numbers of vaccines, so that maximum numbers of eligible people can be vaccinated.
He also asked him to help in creating awareness regarding the Corona pandemic and the precautions to be taken against it.
The Governor suggested the MP to inform each and everyone regarding the Covid protocol in his constituency.
As per the bulletin issued by the state Directorate of Health Services, till Wednesday, state has recorded 16,912 Covid cases of which 56 succumbed to the virus. Active cases stood at 64.
