Arunachal CS briefs Centre on Covid-19 situation in state

Arunachal Pradesh government is following three main strategies to stop the spread of Coronavirus in the state.

Itanagar: Arunachal Pradesh Chief Secretary Naresh Kumar on Wednesday apprised the Union Ministry of Home Affairs about various strategies of the State government which have been put into force to curb the spread of Covid-19.
“Arunachal Pradesh government is following three main strategies to stop the spread of Coronavirus in the state. Firstly, extensive tracking and testing, secondly enforcement of Covid appropriate behaviour and thirdly vaccination drive of all the beneficiary age groups,” Kumar said while attending a virtual meeting convened by Union Home Secretary Ajay Bhalla with Chief Secretaries of Union Territories and North-East (NE) states on Covid-19 situation.
Apprising that Arunachal has completed vaccination of 68 per cent of 18 years and above the age (first dose), the CS urged for an additional three lakh Covid-19 vaccine to achieve 100 per cent coverage of the said age group by next month.
He further informed that the State Government is improving the health infrastructure even in remote areas.
Kumar said there are two RT-PCR units in the state and every district has TrueNat machines of appropriate capacities for Covid testing purposes.
Oxygen and oxygen beds have been made available and efforts are underway to add another 500 oxygen beds in the state in near future, he added.
Medicine in sufficient quantity is available, Kumar informed.
Arunachal Pradesh Director General of Police RP Upadhyaya, Health Secretary P Parthiban, State Surveillance Officer (IDSP) Dr L Jampa also attended the meeting.
