Lucknow: Samajwadi Party (SP) president Akhilesh Yadav on Thursday isolated himself for three days after his wife and former MP Dimple Yadav and daughter Teena tested positive with Covid-19.
Confirming this Akhilesh tweeted, “I will not be able to attend public programmes as a precautionary measure as members of the family have been tested positive with Covid-19. Wishes for the joint rally of SP and Rashtriya Lok Dal at Iglas and appeal to the workers to remain active will full enthusiasm and energy.”
It may be mentioned that Akhilesh’s wife and ex-MP Dimple Yadav and daughter Teena have been tested COVID positive after which they have been put under isolation. They are being treated at home.
It may be noted that Akhilesh was scheduled to participate in a joint rally of SP and RLD to be held at Iglas in Aligarh district Thursday.
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath telephoned Samajwadi Party President Akhilesh Yadav and enquired about his wife and daughter who have tested positive for Covid-19, officials said here on Thursday. Yogi wished them a speedy recovery.
Yogi called Akhilesh Yadav on Wednesday night. His wife and former MP Dimple Yadav and their daughter Teena have contacted Covid. Former Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav has tested negative.
