Kakching: A meeting to review the status of Assured Minimum Facilities (AMFs) at polling stations in the four Assembly Constituencies of Kakching district—Wabagai, Kakching, Hiyanglam and Sugnoo—was held at the Conference Hall of the Deputy Commissioner, Kakching, in connection with the General Elections to the Manipur Legislative Assembly, 2027.
The meeting was chaired by Th. Kirankumar, IAS, Secretary (Land Resources) and Managing Director of Manipur State Beverage Corporation Limited. It was attended by Angeline Renita R., IAS, District Election Officer and Deputy Commissioner, Kakching; Elangbam Anand, MCS, Additional District Election Officer/ADM, Kakching; Returning Officers, Assistant Returning Officers, Election Officer and other officials.
A slideshow presentation on the status of AMFs at polling stations across the district was made during the meeting. It covered the availability and condition of essential facilities, including polling station buildings, drinking water, toilets, ramps, electricity connections and furniture.
This was followed by detailed deliberations on the existing facilities and the measures required to ensure that all polling stations meet the prescribed AMF standards. Shri Th. Kirankumar also directed the concerned officials to take necessary steps to ensure that all polling stations are equipped with the required facilities.
Following the meeting, Th. Kirankumar, accompanied by the DEO/DC and other officials, visited selected polling stations to assess the ground-level status of the facilities.
