Afghan forces discover weapon cache in northern Kunduz province

Kunduz, Afghanistan:The law enforcement agencies have discovered a weapon cache in Afghanistan’s northern Kunduz province, General Directorate of Intelligence (GDI) or the country’s counter-intelligence agency said a statement on Monday.


Acting on a tip-off, the personnel of GDI launched operations in the Ali Abad district of Kunduz province on Sunday evening and discovered a weapon cache containing a variety of arms and ammunition, including 120 pieces of hand grenades and thousands of bullets and cartridges, the statement added.


The statement didn’t say if anyone had been arrested.

On Sunday, the Afghan security forces also seized a huge quantity of arms and ammunition including dozens of missiles, mortar mines and SPG 9 shells in the Sawki district of the eastern Kunar province.
