Imphal: Manipur’s Covid positivity rate dropped down drastically to .7 % as only 10 persons tested positive out of a total of 1,375 in the last 24 hours leading up to 2 pm of Wednesday. During the same period, one Covid-related death was reported while 25 persons recovered and were discharged, as per an official release from the Health Department.
The lone person who expired was from Imphal East, he had co-morbidities and had not been vaccinated at all. The cumulative death toll in the state now stands at 2116.
Of the 10 persons from the general population who tested positive, four are from Imphal West, two each from Bishnupur and Ukhrul and one each from Tengnoupal and Thoubal.
A total of 1,375 persons were tested, amounting to a positivity rate of .7 %
Meanwhile, 25 persons recovered and were discharged, 18 of them from home isolation, three from CCCs and two each from RIMS and JNIMS.
For various reasons 108 persons were declared as recovered only on Monday, therefor the total persons recovered is 134 after reconciliation as on March 7.
The recovery rate of the state stands at 98.38 %.
The cumulative number of positive cases in the state now stands at 1, 36, 931 out of which 1, 34, 719 have recovered leaving 96 active cases.
The total number of doses administered on March 8, is 3,720 , the cumulative number of doses administered is 27,38,026 (1st dose 15,18, 966, 2nd dose 11,57, 159) and precautionary dose 61,901.
