AASU protest over non-implementation of Clause 6

Guwahati: The All Assam Students’ Union (AASU) Monday staged a protest at Guwahati for the non-implementation of Clause 6 of the Assam Accord.

Along with the issue, the apex student union has taken up the issue of big dams, flood-embankment problems. They have further demanded that the annual Assam flood be given a national disaster status.

A protest was held at Dighalipukhuri from 11 AM to 1 PM. The AASU members also used a black badge in lieu of the protests held across the state.

They raised slogans against the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government saying, “We don’t need false assurances and we just want results.”

AASU President Dipanka Nath, Vice President Bipul Rabha, AASU State Executive Raifuddin Ahmed, DibyaJyoti Medhi along 300 protesters participated in the demonstrations.
