Senapati: As part of the ongoing month-long Seva Sankalp Utsav 2026, the Seva Jyoti Yatra was organised at Paomata today by the Sub-Divisional Officer, Paomata, Sheveine MCS, under the supervision of the District Administration, Senapati, to commemorate 25 years of public service by the Hon’ble Prime Minister and to promote the spirit of service, compassion and collective responsibility.
The Yatra commenced from Paomata Centre Ground and proceeded to the SDO Office, Paomata Centre, covering approximately 2 km. Led by the SDO, Paomata, the Yatra witnessed participation from around 20 villages under Paomata Sub-Division, along with village authorities, officials, line departments and members of the public.
The Yatra conveyed the message that public service is not merely an official responsibility but a collective commitment to bring hope, dignity and support to every section of society.
Addressing the gathering, Deputy Commissioner, Senapati, Dharun Kumar S, IAS, emphasised that the spirit of public service should reach everyone without discrimination, expectation or desire for recognition. He stated that meaningful service does not always require substantial resources, but begins with the willingness to help, compassion and responsible action.
The Deputy Commissioner encouraged citizens to contribute to society through practical assistance, kind words, responsible conduct and support to those in need. He also urged the public to make maximum use of various services and welfare initiatives being facilitated by the District Administration and line departments and to actively participate in Government programmes aimed at strengthening service delivery at the grassroots.
The programme also featured the live telecast of the Hon’ble Prime Minister’s address at the Viksit Bharat Sankalp Sabha in New Delhi, organised to mark his 25 years of public service as head of government.
Later, the Sub- Deputy Collector, Senapati, Panii Ngaonii. Jr. MCS, led the Seva Sankalp Abhiyan pledge for the gathering.
Meanwhile, a Seva Setu Abhiyan outreach camp was organised at the DRDA Hall, Paomata Centre Village under the supervision of District Administration, Senapati, providing services including beneficiary enrolment and verification, issuance of various certificates, free health check-ups/ scanning of NCD and facilitation of access to Government schemes and services.
During the outreach programme, one knapsack sprayer, agricultural inputs including green gram, mustard seeds and maize, and tree saplings were distributed to beneficiaries by the concerned departments. Certificates of Appreciation were also presented to the best-performing Anganwadi Workers of Saranamai C, Laii Middle and Vozai.
A total of 12 departmental stalls were set up at the camp, enabling citizens to interact directly with officials, obtain information on Government schemes and services, complete documentation and submit applications. The initiative also sought to identify eligible beneficiaries who may have been unable to access Government schemes through regular channels and facilitate their inclusion in various welfare programmes.
The programme concluded with a collective call to carry the spirit of “Seva Jyoti” beyond the event and make service an integral part of everyday life. Participants were encouraged to respond to the needs of others, extend support to those in need and contribute towards building a more compassionate and inclusive society.
The Seva Jyoti Yatra and Seva Setu Abhiyan at Paomata reaffirmed the commitment of the District Administration, Senapati, towards strengthening community participation and ensuring inclusive, accessible and people-centric delivery of Government services at the grassroots level.
