Churachandpuu: A preparatory meeting for the month-long Seva Sankalp Abhiyan 2026, scheduled to be observed from September 17 to October 17, was held at the DC Conference Hall of the DC Office Complex here today.
The meeting, chaired by Deputy Commissioner Krishna Kumar, IAS, reviewed the action plan and various activities proposed to be undertaken in the district during the campaign. Lalrobul Fimate, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Churachandpur, presented the district action plan, outlining the programmes, timelines and responsibilities of the departments concerned.
The nationwide campaign, which marks 25 years of public service and governance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, is centred on three broad themes — Seva (service), Sushasan (good governance) and Antyodaya (welfare of the last person). The campaign seeks to promote citizen outreach, public participation, delivery of welfare schemes and community-level service activities.
According to the action plan reviewed at the meeting, the campaign will begin on September 17 with Aashirwad Ka Diya, under which household and public diya-lighting programmes will be organised at selected locations, including Amrit Sarovar sites, Awas Yojana colonies and Jan Aushadhi Kendras.
Under India of Dreams (Art Seva), painting, essay and elocution competitions will be organised in schools and colleges on the theme “My Vision of Viksit Manipur” from September 18 to 30. The Aangan Ka Utsav programme will involve visits to Anganwadi centres, nutrition-awareness activities and the felicitation of frontline workers.
The campaign will also include Kahani Badlav Ki, under which success stories relating to government schemes and development initiatives will be documented through short films, photographs and write-ups.
Other activities planned during the campaign include cleanliness drives, tree plantation, voluntary blood donation camps, beneficiary enrolment and verification, and assistance in documentation and applications for various government welfare schemes.
The action plan also provides for Seva Jyoti Yatra, involving youth mobilisation and foot, cycle and bike rallies from September 24 to 30; and Seva Setu Abhiyan, under which block-level facilitation camps will be organised from September 24 to October 7 for beneficiary verification and convergence of 26 schemes.
The Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra, scheduled from October 1 to 7, will focus on district- and Assembly constituency-level outreach highlighting completed development works and future priorities. The month-long programme is scheduled to conclude with Jan Sevak Mahakumbh on October 17.
The campaign’s stated objectives include citizen outreach and public engagement across districts, last-mile delivery of welfare schemes, identification of eligible beneficiaries who remain uncovered, youth and community participation in service and governance, health and nutrition initiatives through Anganwadi and ASHA networks, and cleanliness and environmental activities at the community level.
The meeting was attended by representatives of Hon’ble MLAs of the Assembly constituencies in the district, prominent and distinguished persons from the district, District Level Officers of various departments, and representatives of NGOs and civil society organisations. Additional Deputy Commissioners I and II, Churachandpur, attended as co-opted members.
The Seva Sankalp Abhiyan is being conducted nationwide from September 17 to October 17, with programmes focused on service, public participation, welfare outreach and access to government schemes.
