Kakching: Assam Rifles organised a sports initiative at Mantak Village, Kakching District, aimed at encouraging constructive youth engagement and fostering community participation through football.
As part of the programme, football equipment including balls, markers, cones and goal nets were distributed to the local youth club and village youth. The event witnessed the active involvement of 35 young participants, community youth leaders, ex-servicemen and Assam Rifles personnel. The distribution was followed by voluntary contributions from ex-servicemen of Mantak Village, who assisted in upgrading the football ground and preparing it for sporting activities. The ground was readied with goal nets and essential arrangements, creating a conducive environment for the youth to pursue sports.
The initiative culminated in a spirited friendly football match, where 35 local youths participated with enthusiasm. The match not only showcased sporting talent but also highlighted the values of teamwork, camaraderie and discipline. The collective efforts of the youth and ex-servicemen reflected the importance of community partnership in promoting positive engagement and strengthening social bonds.
