Kakching: A training cum interaction programme in connection with the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of Electoral Roll, 2026 with with July 1, 2026 as the qualifying date (01.07.2026), along with other election related matter was held for 39-Sugnoo Assembly Constituency at Lairembi Laibung, Waikhong Ningthoumanai (Near Waikhong Bazar) today. The programme was attended by Booth Level Officers (BLOs) and Booth Level Agents (BLAs).
Similarly, a training cum meeting programme in connection to the SIR, 2026 was held for 38-Hiyanglam Assembly Constituency at the Conference Hall in DC Office today. The BLOs of Polling Stations 1-18 attended the first session held from 11 am to 12.30 pm, while the BLOs of Polling Stations 19-36 attended the second session conducted from 1pm to 2.30 pm.
It may be mentioned that similar training programmes were also conducted for the 36-Wabagai Assembly Constituency and 37-Kakching Assembly Constituency for BLOs and BLAs in last week of July.
On the other hand, a Special Campaign in connection with the Special Intensive Revision (SIR), 2026 and the disposal of Claims and Objections was conducted at the polling stations under the 39-Sugnoo AC from August 1- 2, 2026. It may be mentioned that the period of filing Claims and Objections is from 5th July, 2026 to 4th August, 2026.
During the campaign, Booth Level Officers (BLOs) and BLO Supervisors were present in their respective polling stations to receive and facilitate Claims and Objections from the eligible voters. The BLOs also conducted verification process and assisted electors regarding entries in the Electoral Roll.
Apart from it, the electors were given necessary guidance relating to the SIR process by the BLOs and assisted in case of discrepancies in the Electoral Roll. During the campaign, the BLOs made sure that the electors were provided with all necessary assistance for inclusion, correction, deletion or transportation of their names as per the provisions of the Registration of Electors Rules.
Meanwhile, a Special Campaign in connection with the Special Summary Revision of Photo Electoral Roll w.r.t. eligible on all 4 (four) dates 01/01/2026, 01/04/2026, 01/06/2026 and 01/10/2026 qualifying dates was held at all the polling stations under 36-Wabagai AC, 37-Kakching AC and 38-Hiyanglam AC on 1st and 2nd August, 2026.
All the BLOs were present at their respective polling stations during office hours to receive Form 6 (application for inclusion of name in the electoral roll), Form 7 (application for deletion of a name from the electoral roll), and Form 8 (application for correction of entries, replacement of EPIC, or shifting of residence).
SVEEP materials such as T-shirts/banners among others collected from the Office of the Chief Electoral Officer were also distributed to the eligible electors and first time voters during the Special Campaign.
