Imphal: The Chief Minister of Manipur, N Biren Singh greeted the people of the State on the auspicious occasion of Yaoshang.
In his message, Biren singh said that Yaoshang is celebrated for five days starting from the full moon day of the lunar month of Lamta signals the coming of spring, ushering the birth and growth of new beginnings.
“The festival provides a platform for social bonding for people of all communities and from all walks of life. Sports and indigenous events witnessed during the five-day-long festival have a powerful impact on social bonding for people from different social, economic, and religious backgrounds” Biren Singh added.
Stating that the state is slowly returning towards normalcy after going through a tough phase that challenged the peaceful coexistence of the people and disrupted all economic and developmental activities, he hoped the festival, ushering spring, would take back the state along the path of peace and development. May the festival bring emotional integrity among our various communities.
