Kangpokpi: The District Administration Kangpokpi, under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner Hemant Kumar, IAS, along with SDOs, DLOs, State Police and Paramilitary forces, held a coordination meeting and formulated an action plan regarding the conduct of the Civil Defence Air Raid/Blackout Mock Drill at the Conference Hall of the Office of the Deputy Commissioner, Kangpokpi.
The Deputy Commissioner briefed the officials present on the purpose and significance of conducting the exercise and the precautionary measures to be taken to strengthen the district’s capability in handling emergency scenarios, as well as to ensure that the public and concerned departments, including police personnel, are aware of the appropriate procedures to be followed during such situations. Detailed deliberations were held to ensure effective coordination and preparedness among all stakeholder departments for the successful execution of the mock drill. The Chairman also issued necessary directions to all DLOs to ensure close coordination and collaboration among SDOs, police, paramilitary forces, health services, fire and emergency services, transport authorities and other allied departments. Detailed discussions were also held with the concerned departments regarding their respective roles, identification and installation of safe places, establishment of the Central Control Room and Defence Control Room, and the sequence of events to be followed during the exercise. It was decided that the mock exercise will be conducted on 5th October, 2026.
In addition, the International Day of Older Persons (IDOP), 2026, with the theme “The Age of Longevity: Rethinking Systems for Longer Lives”, was celebrated at the Conference Hall in the presence of Additional Deputy Commissioner Lamminlal Simte, MCS, in collaboration with the District Administration Kangpokpi and District Social Welfare Office.
Meanwhile as part of the ongoing Seva Sankalp Abhiyan, the Sadar Hills Autonomous District Council (SH-ADC) carried out a cleanliness drive at various government institutions, including the DC Office, District Hospital, PHC, CHC, marketplaces and other public places.
