Imphal: Assam Rifles executed a series of community-centric outreach initiatives spanning youth sports encouragement, grassroots healthcare delivery and veteran engagements across Imphal, Tengnoupal and Kamjong districts of Manipur between 18 and 30 September 2026. The coordinated drives, undertaken under the core ethos of Seva Aur Suraksha, aimed to foster sportsmanship among local youth, extend accessible medical services to remote border areas and reinforce mutual trust and peace through civil-military cooperation.

In a major boost to youth sports following the conclusion of the 3rd DG Assam Rifles Hockey Cup 2026, held from 18 to 28 September 2026 at Khuman Lampak Hockey Stadium in Imphal, Assam Rifles extended a special cash assistance of ₹5,000 each to all participating teams that did not secure prize money during the tournament. Recognising the sportsmanship of young local players, the gesture encouraged them to pursue their athletic dreams and contribute constructively to society.

Extending vital healthcare services to remote and underserved populations, Assam Rifles collaborated with the Chief Medical Officer of the Force and prominent Civil Society Organisations, including the Centre for Women and Girls, KWU and local human rights bodies, to organise a comprehensive Free Medical Camp at Primary Health Centre, Tengnoupal District on 30 September 2026. The medical initiative provided essential consultations and guidance on preventive healthcare, personal hygiene and healthy lifestyle practices, benefiting a total of 320 local residents, comprising 64 men, 138 women and 118 children.

Simultaneously on 30 September 2026, Assam Rifles conducted an interactive community meet with 19 Ex-Servicemen which included 02 Veer Naris, at Sorde in Kamjong District. The session focused on addressing local concerns, enhancing civil-military cooperation and promoting harmony. During the interaction, the participating veterans assured steadfast support in reinforcing the impartial approach of Assam Rifles across all communities, while urging the local populace to rely strictly on factual information rather than unverified social media rumors. The veterans also pledged full cooperation in preventing blockades or interference with security force movements through their villages, while Assam Rifles representatives promised responsive guidance and support for local medical requirements within available provisions.
