Addressing a public meeting organised on the occasion of the AIMIM’s 65th Revival Day at party headquarters in Darussalam here, Akbaruddin said that sometimes the PM ( Modi) becomes a ‘Chowkidar’ and a ‘Chaiwala.
We don’t need either a Chaiwala or chowkidar but we only need a powerful PM, who protects the borders and poor, he added.
AIMIM National President and Hyderabad MP, Asaduddin Owaisi asked the party cadre to get ready for Assembly polls that will be held later this year.
Currently, the party has 7 MLAs in Telangana state and its tally will be doubled by contesting in more constituencies in the coming elections in the state, he said.
Earlier on the occasion, a party flag was hoisted at the party headquarters and party legislators also addressed the gathering.
It may be mentioned here On February 25, that AIMIM had its first-ever two-day national conference at Mumbai on February 25.. The move came days ahead of the 65th anniversary of what the AIMIM calls the party’s revival, where it resolved to embark on a nationwide expansion.
The National Convention entailed closed-door deliberations with its two members of Parliament, over 1,000 office bearers and corporators.
On the final day, the AIMIM released a list of 16 resolutions, including its “national agenda”, that seeks to expand the party’s presence across the country, and to continue the legacy of Sultan Salahuddin Owaisi, a former parliamentarian and sitting Member of Parliament Asaduddin Owaisi’s father, and “past leadership”, which invariably includes the latter’s grandfather, Abdul Wahed Owaisi, who is credited with the “revival” of the party.
