Manipur: Meeyamgi Numit, Hill Leaders day held in various districts

Imphal: The District Hill Leaders & Meeyamgi Numit for the month of February 2023 was held in various districts of Manipur on Friday.

It was organised in the Chandel district at a multipurpose hall, a mini-secretariat, and the DC complex. As part of Fridays’ programme the ADC Chandel, Md. Firoj Khan gave various items to beneficiaries under various schemes of different departments. 

Under the Zonal Education Office, textbooks, activity books and uniforms were distributed to students at Lamphou Pasna Aided Primary School.  Other materials, like mathematics kits, badminton rackets, and MDM plates, were also given to the school.

For Kangpokpi district, the District Administration organised the 7th District Hill Leaders’ Day and Meeyamgi Numit at T. Waichong Government High School, Tujang Waichong Sub-Division, Kangpokpi District.

 Deputy Commissioner Kengoo Zuringla, IAS, inspected the stalls of the various departments and instructed officials to give maximum benefits to the villagers. She also asked the villagers to ask their queries without hesitation and take advantage of the departments’ expertise. 

In respect of Tengnoupal District, it was held at the office complex of the Deputy Commissioner, Tengnoupal. 

Deputy Commissioner, Ranjan Yumnam, along with the district SDOs and officers of the different departments, inspected the stalls and interacted with the public.

The Forest Department distributed 712 tree saplings for planting, and the Health Department screened 11 people for blood sugar and seven for hypertension. Social Welfare distributed four Chief Minister widow pension schemes, eight Manipur old-age pension schemes, two pension schemes for PWDs under CMHT, and two carer allowances for persons with disabilities.

The Agriculture Department issued two SMAN forms. The Education Department distributed 24 sets of school uniforms and textbooks each, three First Aid Kits, six Mathematical Boxes, and 15 sports items, among others. 

District Administration, Kakching Friday organised the seventh “Meeyamgi Numit” (People’s Day) in respect of Kakching District today from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Deputy Commissioner’s Office Complex, Kakching.   27 line departments opened their stalls to deliver public services and address public grievances during the day. Altogether, 244 grievances/applications were received, and 146 people attended.

 While speaking to media persons, DC Shri Somorjit Salam asserted that in the last month too, the District Social Welfare Office has distributed assistance to disabled persons who were selected as beneficiaries. New applications will be examined and the processed by the department concerned and they would be given in next month by Meeyamgi Numit. He also urged the general public to participate in the Meeyamgi Numit and avails maximum facilities like making of CMHT, PMJAY, Kishan Credit Card, Job Card etc.

The Departments will try to deliver services to their level best.  Later, the DC distributed several items to the disabled persons who were selected as beneficiaries under the Assistance to Disabled persons of the Social Welfare department.

The District Hill Leaders’ Day & Meeyam gi Numit for Kamjong district was observed today at the Kasom Khullen sub-divisional headquarter. Organised by the District Administration, Kamjong, the program was held at the Sadhavna Mandap, Kasom Khullen town.

Deputy Commissioner Shri Rangnamei Rang Peter, Superintendent of Police Shri P Manjit, top-level police and civil officials, and other district-level officers of the various government departments in the district attended the event, and heard the various grievances of the public as done in proceeding months.

In the event that witnessed hundreds of public in attendance, the district-level offices (DLOs) opened their mobile stalls to cater to the various demands and grievances of the public. Among the most active stalls were the CMO, ICDS, DSWO, MSPDCL, DAO, District Handloom & Textiles, District Forest Office, CAF & PD, SDO office etc.

District Administration, Bishnupur Friday conducted the monthly Meeyamgi Numit at the Panchayat Resource Centre, Mini Secretariat.

Deputy Commissioner, Lourembam Bikram with SP Bishnupur Shri N. Herojit Meitei led the District Officials in hearing various grievances of the people. 

Weaver card, yarn card and CMHT card were handed to beneficiaries. Around 100 people besides officials attended in today’s Meeyamgi Numit.  

Lourembam Bikram said that Meeyamgi Numit is an initiative of the Chief Minister for the general public to highlight their grievances and suggestions. He appealed to the people to attend the monthly Meeyamgi Numit and raise their grievances. He said that it is a platform to make the government schemes and programme more effective. 

 Stalls of various departments and banks were set up to provide different services and benefits to the people as part of the Meeyamgi Numit. Services related to the CMHT, Old Age Pension, Widow Pension, Ration Card, among others were also provided.
