Stampede row: Police register three FIRs against Azhar, HCA office bearers

Hyderabad: Local police have registered three separate First Information Reports (FIRs) against Hyderabad Cricket Association (HCA) office bearers and its President and former India Captain Mohd Azharuddin, here on Thursday night.

The FIRs were registered following complaints received from cricket fans, Begumpet police said here on Friday.

In their complaints, the fans alleged negligence, cheating, and black-marketing of tickets for the third T20I between India and Australia to be played at Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium in Uppal on Sunday night.

They also alleged that poor arrangements had been made by the HCA at the Gymkhana Ground, the sale of tickets venue in Secunderabad, where Chaos prevailed on Thursday morning.

In the stampede-like situation, six persons including two women were injured and admitted to a Corporate hospital.

While the debate over the sale of tickets for India Vs Australia T20I is raging on, the HCA had earlier announced that the tickets for the Sunday match were sold out without mentioning any figures.
