Colombo: Newly appointed Sri Lanka’s Minister of Investment Promotion Dhammika Perera on Sunday resigned from his ministerial portfolio, media reports said.
According to Daily Mirror, Perera was appointed as the Minister of Investment Promotion on June 24.
Sri Lankan News aggregator Newswire also published the resignation letter to President Gotabaya Rajapaksa wherein the minister said, ‘I am now of the view, your Excellency, that Sri Lanka should expedite to identify and implement a solution that will achieve economic stability and address the needs of the people of our country.
‘I always act in the best interest of my country and in order to facilitate such action, I hereby tender my resignation from the post of Minister of Investment Promotion with immediate effect.”
