Shillong: A local court in Meghalaya on Thursday convicted a man in a 2018 murder case and sentenced him to rigorous life imprisonment for life.
The convict Sengran D. Shira had on June 26, 2018 hacked to death Balkulin Ch Momin at Cheran Alda village under the district over a land dispute.
The accused was arrested and the axe which was used in the murder was seized and recovered. The case was chargesheeted.
The District and Sessions Judge, M Skhemlon found Shira guilty for murder and convicted him for rigorous imprisonment for life.
