Seoul: At least 7 people were confirmed dead and 46 others injured in a fire that broke out at an office building in the southeastern city of Daegu on Thursday, Yonhap news agency reported citing officials.

The fire broke out at the seven-story building in the city, 302 kilometers south of Seoul, at around 10:55 am, according to firefighters. It was fully extinguished some 20 minutes later.

Seven people were reported dead, and 46 people were injured after inhaling smoke. Dozens of other citizens evacuated the building.

About 50 fire trucks and 160 firefighters were at the scene to extinguish the flames.

Police said they were investigating the exact cause of the fire, including the possibility of arson.
