Ankara: A meeting of delegations of Turkey, Russia, Ukraine and the UN will take place in Istanbul this week to discuss the unblocking of Ukrainian grain shipments in the Black Sea, Turkish broadcaster TRT Haber reported on Tuesday.
Ukraine has blamed the disrupted grain supply on Russia, but the latter said it was due to Ukrainian-planted mines in the Black Sea that ships could not leave ports safely.
The UN has developed a roadmap mechanism for resuming grain exports which is now 80-90 per cent ready, the sources said.
The exact day of the meeting will be set once Russia’s response is received. Turkey and Ukraine have confirmed their participation, according to the report.
If the agreement is reached with Russia, the roadmap will be implemented quickly, the broadcaster said.
