8-day quarantine mandatory for travellers coming from six countries.

In view of the new COVID-19 variant Omicron, it has been decided to
make eight-day quarantine mandatory for travellers from South Africa,
China, Botswana, Hong Kong, Brazil and Italy and monitor them, Health
Minister Ma.Subramanian told reporters here on Sunday.

He said certain restrictions were put in place at the Chennai International airport and all those arriving from these countries will be tested here. ”If any of them showed any symptoms, they will be isolated “, he said.
