Covid: Manipur’s positivity drops to 5.6% Friday

Imphal: Manipur reported three Covid-related deaths, 159 positive cases and 187 recoveries in the last 24 hours leading up to 2 pm of Thursday, as per an official release from the health department.

Two of the three persons who succumbed to the deadly virus were from Imphal East while one was from Imphal West. The cumulative death toll in the state now stands at 1,858. All the three persons who expired had co-morbidities and none of them were vaccinated.

Of the 158 persons who tested positive from the general population, 84 are from Imphal West, 35 from Imphal East, seven each from Churachandpur and Thoubal, five each from Bishnupur, Pherzawl  and Tengnoupal, three each from Senapati, Tamenglogn and Ukhrul and one each from Chandel and Kangpokpi.

Of the 187 persons who were discharged, 64 are from home isolation, 87 from CCCs, 14 from CHICs, 15 from RIMS and seven from JNIMS. The recovery rate in the state now stands at 96.61%.

The cumulative number of positive cases is 1,20,743 out of which 1, 16,653 have recovered leaving 2,232 active cases.

The total number of doses administered on September30, 2021, is 2,811 and the cumulative number doses administered is 17,02,902 (1st dose 12,23,626, 2nd dose 4,79,276).

The total numbers of beds available in various hospitals for Covid-19 patients on October 1 is 547 out of which 439 are general beds while 112 are ICU beds.
