Agartala: With the impressive improvement of Covid-19 situation, Tripura government has decided to open the school for Class-I-V from next week.
However, both the parents and school authorities were asked to follow appropriate precautions for the children while sending them to school and during their stay in the school.
The Department of elementary education has issued a notification allowing the Class of 1 to 5th standard students in the school from September 13 next. However, a permission letter from each of the guardians was made mandatory for the students to attend the regular classes after a break of six months. However, the nursery level classes will remain suspended.
Earlier, the state government began classes for the students of VI-XII from August 25 last after Covid infection cases were reduced to around 100 every day. Almost all the institutions, establishments and entertainment perks, malls, saloons, hotels, gymnasium and multiplex have been opened although Covid curfew has remained in force from 10 pm to 5 am till Sept 30 next.
In case of lack of adequate classrooms in the school, instructions were issued to make arrangements in two sessions. According to the notification, the department of elementary education emphasised on providing extra care to students who are weak, drop out and away from school from the first day.
A ten point restriction has been put in place for attendance of students including consent of guardians, seating arrangements, duties of teachers to ensure maintenance of physical distancing norms etc. All the schools have been instructed to go for arrangement of classes in a rigorous manner in order to make up for the loss in lessons already suffered by the students.
