Imphal: Agriculture Minister Oinam Lukhoi Singh today distributed urea fertilizers to the farmer of Kumbi AC, Bishnupur District at Kumbi Ibudhou Sandong under the aegis of District Agriculture Officer (DAO) in Bishnupur district. Under the supervision of District Agriculture Officer (DAO) and District Administration, Bishnupur district, altogether, 1, 695 bags of fertilizers were handed over today to the recognised farmers and ensured to hand over more bags of fertilizers in the coming days.
Addressing the gatherings, Minister Oinam Lukhoi expressed that the government fully acknowledged the concern and grievances of farmers and their demands to receive the fertilisers during this Kharif season. So, Agriculture Department always strives to meet the requirements of our farmers in the state.
Minister also informed that the Department has relevant documents for those farmers who have already received the fertilizers and for farmers who are yet to get urea, he assured that the Department is striving towards providing fertilizers to all the farmers as necessary arrangements are being done to procure reserved fertilizers.
Agriculture Minister Lukhoi earnestly appealed the farmers and all concerned stakeholders to inform the Department if anyone is found selling fertilizer on black market. He reiterated that befitted actions will be taken up against such violators. He also announced that 8 thousand bags of fertilizers will be provided for 2nd phase at the earliest.
Director of Agriculture Department Kh Lalmani, Bishnupur District DC Krishna Kumar, SP Hopson Sapam, DAO and top officials of Agriculture Department accompanied the Minister.
