New Delhi: A 70-year-old man has been arrested for allegedly supplying drugs and seized a total of 1200 gm.
Accused, identified as Jaikishan resident of Madanpur Khadar in Delhi, used to purchase ganja from JJ Colony to sell it nearby his residency, RP Meena, DCP, South-East Delhi said.
Police received secret information on Friday that a drug peddler would sell ganja at a canal nearby his residence at Madanpur Khadar. Acting on a tip-off, The team along with the secret informer reached the location and took their respective positions. At around 9:00 pm, a person carrying a bag was seen coming on foot from JJ Colony side. After getting confirmation, cops asked him to stop but he took a sharp U-turn and started scurrying. But cops chased him and overpowered him. During checking the bag, it was found containing ganja weighing around 1200 gm.
During questioning, the accused disclosed that he himself is addicted to the consumption of psychotropic substances and he had nothing to do to earn except selling ganja in the area, police said. He used to purchase drugs from JJ Colony and Najafgarh, Meena said.
