Imphal: The Indian Army is gearing up to mark the 62nd Walong Day with a series of grand events, paying tribute to the remarkable courage and sacrifice of the soldiers who fought valiantly in the 1962 Battle of Walong during the Sino-Indian War.

The commemorations will commence on October 17, 2024, with a solemn opening ceremony and wreath-laying at the Walong War Memorial, a hallowed site honouring the brave souls who laid down their lives in defence of the nation.

This year’s Walong Day will be both a remembrance of the past and a celebration of the indomitable spirit of the Indian Army. Their courage in the face of overwhelming odds is forever etched in Indian military history.
