35 new Covid-19 cases in Meghalaya

The State has so far registered 94267 confirmed cases, including 1595 cases of fatality and 92490 cases of recovery, including 11 that were recorded on Saturday.

Shillong: The daily Covid-19 case count has been gradually rising over more than a month now in Meghalaya with 35 new cases of infection surging the number of active cases to 182 on Saturday, health officials said. 

The State has so far registered 94267 confirmed cases, including 1595 cases of fatality and 92490 cases of recovery, including 11 that were recorded on Saturday. 

The number of active Covid-19 cases increased to 63 in the East Khasi Hills, which includes state capital Shillong with the district accounting for seven new cases of infection besides four cases of recovery from the viral disease today, as per official statistics.

On the other hand, the West Garo Hills reported 22 new Covid-19 cases with the number of active cases in the district going up to 85, Ri-Bhoi reported three cases with the number of active cases in the district at 18, while South West Garo Hills reported two cases with the number of active cases in the district at four and West Khasi Hills reported one case the number of active cases in the district at two, as per the latest official case count.  

Health officials said 15 Covid-19 infected patients are undergoing treatment in various hospitals in the state. 

Two out of the total 12 districts had no active Covid-19 case as on date.

On the other hand, 32139 health care workers have received the first dose of the Covid-19 vaccine, 29511 have been administered with the second dose and 10064 have taken the third precaution dose, while 97029 front-line workers have been vaccinated with the first dose, 85717 have received the second dose and 29662 have got the precaution shot, even as 1302369 persons from among the general public have been inoculated with the first dose, 950420 have been fully vaccinated with the second dose and 10509 citizens have taken the booster dose across the state till Saturday.
