Imphal: in the last 24 hours leading up to 2 pm of Sunday, Manipur reported two Covid related deaths, 104 positive cases (103 general population, 1 CAPF) and 102 recoveries, as per an official release from the health department.
Both the persons who succumbed to the deadly virus are from Imphal West. One of the people who succumbed to the deadly virus had co-morbidities and none of them have been vaccinated. The cumulative death toll in the state now stands at 1,897
Of the 103 persons who tested positive from the general population, 58 are from Imphal West, 18 from Imphal East, nine from Kamjong, six from Kakching, four from Bishnupur, two each from Kangpokpi and Ukhrul, one each from Churachandpur, Pherazwl, Senapati, Tengnoupal and Thoubal.
Altogether, 2,347 samples were tested amounting to a positivity rate of 4.4 %
Meanwhile, of the 102 persons who recovered and were discharged, 14 are from home isolation, 69 from CCCs, three from RIMS and 14 from JNIMS. The recovery rate in the state now stands at 97.30 %.
The cumulative number of positive cases is 1, 22,737 out of which 1,19,418 have recovered leaving 1,422 active cases.
The total number of doses administered on October 16, 2021, is 11,848 and the cumulative number of doses administered is 18, 27,474 (1st dose 12,36,143, 2nd dose 5,91,331).
The total numbers of beds available in various hospitals for Covid-19 patients on October 12 is 573 out of which 471 are general beds while 102 are ICU beds.
