Bishnupur: District Administration, Bishnupur led by Deputy Commissioner Lourembam Bikram, successfully organized Meeyamgi Numit for two days at the Kumbi Government High School Ground in Terakhong, Kumbi, starting on February 7, 2025.
The event saw a notable turnout with maximum participation from the local population, particularly from the Kumbi and Wangoo areas, which are situated far from the district headquarters.
Today, the second day of the event, witnessed nearly 900 people participating, slightly exceeding the previous day’s turnout of around 700 individuals, bringing the total participation to more than 1,600 over the two days.
The initiative, aimed at delivering government services directly to the people, was a great success, with over 33 government departments offering essential services to the public.
Among the services provided were the issuance of birth certificates, PMJAY cards, CMHT cards, Aadhar enrolment, ration card quota inclusion, employment exchange registration, opening of bank accounts, and enrolment in the Sponsorship Program for CNCP, among others.
The public expressed their gratitude to the Government and the District Administration for bringing government services closer to them. The initiative has not only increased awareness of various government schemes but also made them more accessible to the public, they said.
On the second day, Deputy Commissioner Lourembam Bikram handed over important documents, including ration cards, CMHT cards, Jamabandi copies, and PMJAY cards, to the public.
The event was also attended by ADM Bishnupur Toijam Opendro, AC to DC S. Gunamani Singh, SDOs, BDOs, and District Level Officers.
Departments that took part in the event included the Labour Department, Social Welfare Department, Health Department, CAF&PD, NIC, MSRLM, Education, PHED, Agriculture, Horticulture, and others.
Financial institutions such as Manipur State Cooperative Bank, Moirang, and Punjab National Bank, Moirang, Manipur Rural Bank, Kumbi and State Bank of India, Moirang were also present to support the citizens’ needs.
Mention may be made that Meeyamgi Numit for the month of February was organized in Kumbi as promised by the Honourable Chief Minister N. Biren Singh during a public interaction program held in Terakhong earlier this month.
