Imphal: There is no let in the Covid-19 pandemic onslaught in Manipur as 17 persons expired and 666 persons tested positive (659 general population and 7 CAPF) in the last 24 hours leading up to 5:00 pm of Wednesday.
During the same period, 358 persons recovered and were discharged, as per an official release from the Covid-19 Common Control Room.
The 17 persons who succumbed in the last 24 hours are, a 57-year-old female from Imphal West, a 69-year-old male from Imphal East, a 67-year-old male from Imphal East, an 81-year-old male from Churachandpur, a 51-year-old male from Churachandpur, a 55-year-old male from Thoubal, a 64-year-old male resident of Imphal East, a 55-year-old male from Imphal East, a 56-year-old male from Imphal West, a 54-year-old male from Bishnupur, a 58-year-old male from Imphal East, a 74-year-old male from Imphal East, a 67-year-old female from Imphal East, a 64-year-old male from Kakching, an 84-year-old female from Imphal West, a 76-year-old female from Thoubal, and a 65-year-old male from Imphal East who expired at Shija Hospital (3), DH Churachandpur (2), DH Thoubal (I), Raj Medicity (I), RIMS (4) and JNIMS (6) hospital respectively. The cumulative number of deaths in the state now stands at 526.
Of the 659 persons (364 males, 295 females) from general population, 252 are from Imphal West 171 from Imphal East, 60 are from, Kakching, 48 from Bishnupur, 43 from Churachandpur, 34 from Thoubal, 15 from Ukhrul, 13 from Senapati, 7 from Noney, 6 from Kangpokpi, 4 from Tamenglong, 3 from Chandel, 2 from Kamjong and Tengnoupal. All necessary medical precautionary measures like containment and contact tracing are in place.
Meanwhile, 358 recovered and were discharged. They include 269 from home isolation, 15 from SHRI, 12 each from CAPE, JNIMS and RD Wing, 11 from CCC Churachandpur, 10 from CCC Ukhrul, 9 from BB, 5 from CCC Bishnupur and 3 from RIMS.
The cumulative number of positive cases is 37,036 (General Population – 33.361 and Central Security Personnel – 3,675). The cumulative number of recovered cases is 31,238 (General Population – 27,741 and Central Security Personnel – 3.497). The number of active caws is 5272 (General Population – 5099 and Central Security Personnel – 173). The recovery rate is 84.34 Si.
In the last 24 hours, a total of 1068 D type Oxygen Cylinders and 407 B-type Oxygen cylinders have been made available to different health institutions and health facilities of Manipur.
As per latest information, the total. number of persons vaccinated is 282958. The official release further advised all persons above the age of 45 years to get vaccinated immediately.
