Bishnupur: In connection with the World Environment Day, 2021 under the theme ‘Ecosystem Restoration’ Bishnupur Forest Division under the aegis of District Administration Saturday organised a tree plantation program at Mini Secretariat Complex, Bishnupur.
Speaking on the occasion, Deputy Commissioner, Bishnupur stressed sustainable development that focuses on rational utilization of resources. He also mentioned the first theme of World Environment Day that is ‘Only One Earth’ holds a very special meaning, as it means the earth is irreplaceable. So, it is our duty to protect it and conserve it for future generation.
Further, he urges the general public to plant more trees and find an emotional connect to it so that the plantation becomes fruitful.
The tree plantation program was attended by DFO Bishnupur Dr Soibam Rebika Chanu and other district level officers. Simultaneously, the plantation was also held at different locations which are under the jurisdiction of Bishnupur Forest Division.
