Imphal: A delegation of women led by Thokchom Sujata, Convenor of Imagi Meira, met with Manipur Governor Anusuiya Uikey at Raj Bhavan on Thursday evening.
The group urged the Governor for a swift resolution to the ongoing conflict between the Meiteis and Kukis in the state.
The delegation informed the Governor about the hardships faced by displaced people in the Jiribam district due to recent violence and appealed for a prompt resolution to the crisis.
Governor Uikey assured the group that all possible efforts are being made to find a lasting solution. She emphasized that the Central Government is committed to resolving the conflict and that concerted steps will be taken soon.
