With 23 deaths, Manipur records highest toll till date; 582 test positive

The recovery rate is 81.94 per cent, almost one per cent down from the previous day.

Imphal: Manipur on Wednesday recorded 23 coronavirus-related deaths, the highest daily death toll for the state ever since the pandemic began last year. With this, Manipur’s overall death toll has risen to 635.

Manipur also reported 582 new Covid-19 cases, pushing the infection tally to 41,265. It currently has 6817 active cases.

While, the total number of discharged persons is 347, the cumulative number of recovered cases is 33,813 (General Population – 30,250 and Central Security Personnel 3,563).  The recovery rate is 81.94 per cent, almost one per cent down from the previous day.

In the last 24 hours, a total of 1355 D-type Oxygen Cylinders and 523 B-type Oxygen cylinders have been made available to different health institutions and health facilities of Manipur.

As per the latest information, the total number of persons who were vaccinated is 32,3391.

Meanwhile, Air passengers who travelled to the State on (i) 11th May 2021 by Indigo flight 6E-2251 in rows 31-37 (II) 8th May 2021 by Air India AI-889 in rows 18-24 are advised to inform the Common Covid Control Room 1804345-3818 or respective District Surveillance Officers (DSO) for further Surveillance and necessary testing.
