Wild elephant dies in train accident Keonjhar

Sources said the accident occurred in between Nayagarha and Jurudi Railway station while the elephant was crossing the track.

Bhubaneswar: A sub-adult she elephant died when a goods hit it near Jaganath pur village under Bamberi section of Champua range in Keonjhar district in the wee hours on Wednesday.


Sources said the accident occurred in between Nayagarha and Jurudi Railway station while the elephant was crossing the track.


On getting information a team of the Railway and a team of Veterinary department rushed to the spot.


A senior Forest officer of Keonjhar said the accident might have occurred due to dense fog.


The PCCF office at Bhubaneswar is monitoring the incident.
