Patna: At least three people, including a child, were killed and more than 20 injured in a stampede at durga puja pandal in Gopalganj district of Bihar.
Superintendent of Police Swarna Prabhat said on Tuesday that the incident took place near a crowded pandal in the Raja Dal locality of the town during prasadam distribution.
He said people were in the queue to get the prasadam, suddenly a child fell down and two elderly women who tried to protect him but in due course the stampede broke out.
According to him the 5-year-old child and two elderly women who tried to protect him died in the incident.
The injured were given treatment at Gopalganj Sadar Hospital.
