Imphal: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has filed a chargesheet against four accused in the killing of Bhadu Sk, a resident of village Bogtui in Birbhum district of West Begnal on March this year.

Earlier, the central investigating agency had registered a case on April 8 this year on the order of the Calcutta High Court at the Rampurhat police station against 10 accused.

It was alleged that on March 21, while the deceased,  a deputy pradhan of Barsal Gram Panchayat, was having tea at a shop in Bogtui More, the accused persons lobbed a bomb targetting him. He was immediately rushed to Rampurhat Hospital, but was declared dead by the doctors.

CBI collected digital as well as other scientific evidence. It was found during investigation that there was long standing rivalry between two groups in the area. One group was led by the deceased Bhadu Sk and another was led by an FIR named accused. Bhadu Sk was killed in furtherance of the said rivalry.

After investigation, a charge-sheet was filed.

Further investigation is continuing regarding the role of other accused and to unearth the larger conspiracy, as per a press release issued by the Spokesperson of CBI.
