Chandel: Union Minister of Ports, Shipping & Waterways and AYUSH, Sarbananda Sonowal Tuesday visited Chandel District, Manipur, to review the programmes and projects being taken up under the NITI Aayog, Aspirational Districts programme.
During his visit, the Union Minister had a review meeting with different District level officers at the district Head Quarters, DC complex.
During the interaction meeting the Union Minister said that Chandel being an Aspirational District, unlike the other districts, the District Administration and all the stakeholders need to promote the district by taking up extra and special initiatives.
He also said that motivational attitudes need to be incorporated into the actions of all the stakeholders of the district. He further suggests having a dedicated team to monitor the different development parameters in the district.
Earlier on his way to the District Head Quarter Sarbananda Sonowal also inspected the Primary Health Centre at Komlathabi.
During his visit he interacted with all the doctors and the Healthcare workers of the Primary Health Centre and also inquired about all the development works taken up under the central and state government-sponsored schemes.
At the outset of Tuesday’s review meeting with the Union ministers, at the conference Hall DC complex, Deputy Commissioner, Chandel, Mayanglambam Rajkumar elaborated on all the development works being taken up under the Aspirational District programme in the district through a PowerPoint presentation.
Union Minister Sonowal was accompanied by the MLA of the district, SS.Olish, Manipur Pradesh BJP President, Sharda Devi and other dignitaries of the State Government during his visit.
