Bishnupur: Minister of State for Consumer Affairs, Food & Public Distribution (MoS CAF & PD) Nimuben Jayantibhai Bambhaniya, visited Bishnupur District on Thursday to review the implementation of various centrally sponsored welfare and development schemes.
She was accompanied by CAF & PD Minister Leishangthem Susindro Meitei, MLA Moirang AC Thongam Shanti Singh, Deputy Commissioner Bishnupur Lourembam Bikram, and other concerned officials.
During her visit, MoS Nimuben Jayantibhai Bambhaniya inspected multiple sites where centrally sponsored schemes are being implemented. These included the Amrit Sarovar Site, a public pond at Nanranseina Maning Leikai renovated under MGNREGS; the Ayushman Arogya Mandir (AAM), formerly a Health and Wellness Centre (HWC) in Phubala; a Handloom Cluster Site in Ningthoukhong developed under the National Handloom Development Program; and a house constructed under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana–Gramin (PMAY-G) at Potshangbam.
While addressing the media at the DC Office, MoS Bambhaniya affirmed that the central government is committed to restoring peace in the state. She emphasized that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the government is dedicated to the ideals of “Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas,” working to provide essential services to all citizens through various flagship programs and schemes aimed at the welfare of the poor and marginalized sections of society.
She also reiterated the government’s focus on enhancing connectivity and development in the Northeast Region and encouraged the public to take full advantage of the welfare schemes available to them.
MoS Bambhaniya chaired a review meeting to assess the progress of centrally sponsored schemes in the district. During the meeting, the Deputy Commissioner briefed her on the achievements and ongoing efforts in the district through a PowerPoint presentation. The meeting, held at the conference hall of the DC Office in Bishnupur, was attended by the ministerial team and district-level officers.
