Imphal:: Union Minister of State for Youth Affairs & Sports, Nisith Pramanik Saturday interacted with National Sports awardees, officials of SAI, Coaches, Scientific staff of Manipur in the field of Sports at NCOE, Takyelpat Complex Imphal.
During the interaction programme, national awardees, coaches, and scientific staff shared their experiences and activities in their respective sports. Cyclist coach shared their grievances and the hardship they face during rainy season and sought the help of the minister for opening an Indoor stadium for cycling.
The Minister said that after the introduction of Khello India initiative under Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the country is planning to allocate more Khello India centres in Manipur as Manipur is the sport powerhouse of the Nation. About the Indoor Stadium for Cyclist, the Minister told them that he will discuss this with the concerned Minister and Department in this regard.
The Minister further stated that Medalists from Manipur won their medals not only for their family, friends or for themselves, it is for the State as well as the Nation, they brought Laurel for the Nation and makes the country proud. In order to achieve this, all of the athletes need to work hard and make the country proud in days to come, he added.
Amongst others, VC National Sports University, RC Mishra; Principal Secretary, YAS Govt. of Manipur, SS Chabbra; Director, YAS, T. Phulen Meitei and, Regional Director SAI Francis Marwein attended the Interaction programme.
