Moscow: Kyiv will end visa-free entry to Ukraine for Russian citizens starting July 1, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said on Friday.
“Ukraine introduces a visa regime with Russia… Following a planned decision of the Cabinet of Ministers, Ukraine will introduce a visa regime for Russian citizens effective July 1, 2022,” Zelenskyy said on Telegram.
Later in the day, the head of the Ukrainian President’s Office, Andriy Yermak, said that the Cabinet approved this decision.
The Ukrainian government was expected to unilaterally nullify an agreement with Russia enabling visa-free travel, as well as some other international treaties between the two countries in the wake of Moscow’s special operation.
