Imphal: In the last 24 hours leading up to 5 pm of Thursday, Manipur reported two Covid-related deaths, 36 positive cases and 62 recoveries, as per an official release from the Health Department.
Both the persons from the general population who expired Thursday are from Imphal West. Both of them had co-morbidities and both had taken the 2nd dose of Covid vaccine. With these two deaths, the cumulative deaths in the state now stand at 2133.
Of the 36 persons who tested positive, 13 are from Imphal West, six from Senapati, five each from Bishnupur and Imphal East, four from Ukhrul and one each from Kakching, Churachandpur and Kangpokpi. Altogether, 553 persons were tested amounting to a positivity rate of 6.5 %.
Meanwhile, 62 persons recovered, 29 from home isolation, 27 discharges and three each from RIMS
and JNIMS. The recovery rate of the state as of Friday stands at 98.16 %.
The cumulative number of positive cases in the state now stands at 1, 39, 2149 out of which 1, 36,713 have recovered leaving 403 active cases in the state.
As of August 3, 2022, 160 D-type oxygen cylinders and seven B-type oxygen cylinders have been made available at different health facilities in Manipur.
The status of Covid Hospital facilities in the state as on August 4, 2022 are as follows: JNIMS has a total of 38 beds out of which 16 are occupied and 22 are vacant. RIMS has a total of 62 beds out of which 20 are occupied and 42 are vacant.
The total number of doses administered on August 3, is 4,722, the cumulative number of doses administered is 31,18,472 (1st dose 16,17,419, 2nd dose 12,89,581) and precautionary dose is 2,11,481.
